Effective landscape architecture enhances and complements the natural environment, offers navigational and functional ease, and inspires the imagination.
Terra Verde incorporates these values while maintaining the highest standards of quality, providing the client with a timeless design. From small perennial gardens to multi-acre estates, we can create a landscape design that suits your lifestyle.
The first step is an on-site meeting to survey existing conditions, discuss goals, and listen to your concerns in designing your property to better meet your needs.
Your conceptual design plan is a scaled drawing showing the layout and design of your property, incorporating both landscape and hardscape elements such as patios, decks, walks, pools, driveways, etc.
After the concept has been accepted, you will receive a final detailed plan showing plant locations, varieties, sizes, and quantities. You will also receive an image book showing the proposed plant and hardscape materials.
Smaller-scale garden design projects can be realized with a planting plan, showing plant locations, varieties, quantities, and sizes.
As an option, you may wish to retain Terra Verde to oversee and manage the construction of your project. We can solicit pricing from contractors and coordinate all aspects of the installation, such as plant material and construction of hardscape elements.
Daniel Greller is a licensed landscape architect with the State of New York and can certify project plans with the professional seal required by many towns and incorporated villages.
In addition to design, Terra Verde can manage the installation of your project to assure that the design is executed in a professional manner and with attention to detail. Project management services include:
Terra Verde will put the project out to bid, hold meetings on-site with potential bidders to review the scope of work, analyze and help in contractor selection, and act as a liaison between the client and contractor.
We work with the landscaper to select the best available plants at the nursery. We make any necessary substitutions based on availability to ensure that the plan is implemented as intended.
We can oversee the clearing and prepping of the bed areas to make sure the site is free and clear of debris and that the existing soils are modified/enhanced to ensure the plantings will thrive in their new environment.
We can be present for the delivery and installation of the plant material. The designer can take responsibility for placing, spacing, and finding the best “face” for each individual plant and can make necessary changes on-site based on overall composition and look.
We oversee that the contractor plants the material at the appropriate heights, with fertilizer for root encouragement and that it is watered in. We oversee the pruning of plants, installation of sod/seed mix, and mulching of the planting beds.
Terra Verde will take responsibility for work order changes to ensure that the custom design is fully realized to the satisfaction of the client.
